About Aereus
Aereus GmbH, based in Unterföhring near Munich, develops data intelligence for unmanned systems. Its AI-based platform performs automatic 3D change detection: drone, satellite and camera data are processed into a persistent, queryable 3D scene memory, and each new overflight is compared with the reference so that changes are reported without manual image analysis.
The platform is sensor-agnostic and is designed to ingest and geo-reference drone video, satellite imagery, SAR, LiDAR and SIGINT, and to feed fused results into existing C2 and battle management systems or provide standalone situational awareness. For special forces, the company says, hours of manual image analysis are reduced to minutes, with subtle changes such as new objects, removed structures or terrain modifications detected and prioritised by confidence.
Applications include persistent area surveillance, pre- and post-mission planning, coastal, border and perimeter monitoring and the protection of critical infrastructure, as well as damage assessment after disasters. Field tests have been carried out with the Bundeswehr innovation centre in Erding, within NATO DIANA and with seven Ukrainian units. Aereus joined NATO DIANA's third accelerator cohort in December 2025 and won the German round of the EUDIS Defence Hackathon in May 2025.
