About AirPlate
Danish company from Odense that offers passive drone detection with pilot localisation, as sensors and as a subscription service, for military sites, law enforcement, ports and critical infrastructure.
AirPlate ApS is based in the Forskerparken science park in Odense and was started by engineers from the Drone Research Center of the University of Southern Denmark. In February 2026 it marked its third anniversary and reported its first profitable year, 2025, financed by sales revenue alone. The company is led by CEO August Mader and CTO Troels Andreasen and has received support from ESA Business Incubation Centre Denmark, EU co-funding, Virksomhedsudvikling Danmark, Innovation Fund Denmark and Fonden for Entreprenørskab.
Its AirDetect sensors detect drones passively by receiving DJI DroneID signals and Remote ID broadcasts, without alerting the pilot; each alert shows the drone and often the pilot's position. The range comprises the AirDetect Pro Long Range, which receives Remote ID at up to 20 km, the AirDetect Long Range, the fixed AirDetect Pro for round-the-clock site monitoring and the portable AirDetect Go for events, patrols and temporary sites. The sensors feed web-based command and analysis software, and detection is also sold as a subscription service with a data API for multi-site integration. For drone operators AirPlate offers the Remote ID Pro broadcast module.
Target sectors include defence, where the sensors are to detect drones and pilots close to the perimeter of military sites, as well as law enforcement, prisons, airports, critical infrastructure, stadiums and maritime sites; the company says the system can be integrated into layered counter-UAS concepts. The Port of Hirtshals has run a drone detection pilot with AirPlate since March 2025, and in December 2025 the company announced a cooperation with GateHouse Maritime. In 2023 it took part in Denmark's first U-space demonstration with HHLA Sky within the GENIUS consortium.
