About Avy

Avy was founded in 2016 and is based in Amsterdam. The company develops aircraft, docking station and software in-house and also operates its systems for customers in Europe. It describes itself as a certified operator for flights beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

Its main aircraft, the Avy Aera, is a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone with wings for forward flight. Avy gives a range of up to 150 km, a cruise speed of 83 km/h and a flight time of more than 100 minutes. Avy’s weatherproof dock launches, lands and charges the Aera without staff on site and uses RTK for precision landing.

Applications include drone-as-first-responder missions, remote monitoring, automated inspection and surveillance for police, fire services, security, infrastructure and ports. Avy names the Port of Rotterdam, the Dutch fire service, the Royal Netherlands Navy and the Dutch police among its users. In 2025 and 2026 it announced partnerships including Coptrz in the United Kingdom, Dilectro Enterprise in Poland and VTT, and a deployment by Citymesh with four Belgian coastal police zones.
