About Azur Drones

Azur Drones is based in Mérignac near Bordeaux, where it also operates its own flight test area. Its product is Skeyetech, a drone-in-a-box system made up of a drone with optical and thermal cameras, a climate-controlled docking station and an integrated software platform. According to the company, the drone launches automatically, is airborne in under 40 seconds, recharges itself and can be connected to video management and alarm systems such as Genetec and Milestone.

The company covers software and hardware development, production, system integration and customer support, and also offers preliminary studies, regulatory support, operator training and maintenance. It names TotalEnergies, BASF, Orano and the Paris Fire Brigade among its users; at BASF the system monitors the chemical site in Ludwigshafen. Azur Drones states that Skeyetech has completed tens of thousands of autonomous flights in eleven countries.

In August 2026 Tonner Drones announced a binding agreement to acquire Azur Drones from Drone Volt as part of a liquidation procedure, including its assets, technology and key staff. The transaction was subject to court approval at the time of the announcement. Under an accompanying partnership, Drone Volt is to market the drone-in-a-box systems outside Europe, while Azur Drones focuses on defence and government customers in Europe.
