About Bartington Instruments
Bartington Instruments Ltd is based at Thorney Leys Business Park in Witney, Oxfordshire. The company was incorporated in 1985, was founded by Geoffrey Bartington and Tessa Evans and is privately owned. It designs and manufactures fluxgate magnetometers, gradiometers, magnetic susceptibility instruments, Helmholtz coil systems and data acquisition equipment, and is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
Defence and aerospace is the company’s largest market sector. For marine defence, its products are used for magnetic signature measurement of vessels, UXO detection and disposal at sea and asset protection. For land defence, it supplies low-cost and low-power magnetic sensors such as the Mag690, Mag652 and Mag648/Mag649 for surveillance, UXO detection and asset protection, together with multi-sensor data acquisition systems.
For unmanned aircraft, Bartington offers the UAS-Mag, an unpackaged three-axis fluxgate magnetometer with a DroneCAN interface that can serve as a navigation compass or as a magnetic survey payload. The portfolio also includes space-capable and cryogenic magnetometers such as Spacemag-Lite and CryoMag.
