About BlueBird Aero Systems

BlueBird Aero Systems was established in 2002 and is located in the Emek Hefer Industrial Park in Israel. In late 2020 Israel Aerospace Industries acquired a 50 percent stake in the company, creating a strategic partnership in the tactical UAV segment.

The company develops micro, mini and tactical unmanned aerial systems for defence, security and civil users, including ThunderB, ThunderB-VTOL and the WanderB family with vertical take-off variants, together with its own ground control units.

At the 2023 Paris Air Show BlueBird presented the SpyX, a modular loitering munition with a take-off mass of about 10 kg and a 2.5 kg warhead. Morocco has started an industrial partnership with BlueBird to produce the SpyX locally.
