About C-Astral Aerospace

C-Astral d.o.o., trading as C-Astral Aerospace, is based in Ajdovščina, Slovenia, and develops and builds small unmanned aircraft systems. The company says it has fielded two families of small UAS, BRAMOR and ATLAS, over the last fourteen years and that its systems are used by government entities in more than 70 countries for tasks such as force protection, border protection and tactical ISR. According to the company, its systems have also been evaluated by US SOCOM.

The Bramor C4EYE is a catapult-launched fixed-wing UAS with parachute recovery, up to 3.5 hours of endurance, a C2 range of up to 40 km and an EO/IR gimbal with optional laser illuminator. The lighter ATLAS AS90X is bungee-launched and flies for up to 90 minutes, while the SQA eVTOL combines vertical take-off and landing with up to three hours of endurance for ISR missions. Civil variants such as the Bramor ppX for surveying and the Bramor aGX for agriculture use the same airframe; C-Astral also offers its own C3P software and the DYN micro datalink.

The Cameroonian Army received a first batch of Bramor C4EYE systems in November 2021 for its Rapid Intervention Battalion. In 2023 Ukrainian media reported that the Bramor C4EYE is being used by the Ukrainian Defence Forces; how and in what quantity the systems were transferred was not disclosed.
