About Dynamit Nobel Defence
German maker of shoulder-launched weapons, vehicle protection and counter-mobility systems such as the SKORPION2 mine-laying system, which has also been integrated on an unmanned ground vehicle.
Dynamit Nobel Defence GmbH (DND) was founded in 2004 in Burbach, Germany, when Dynamit Nobel AG was dissolved and its defence business became an independent company. Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems also took a stake in 2004. The Burbach site covers about 1,000,000 m² with 260 buildings, and the company employs more than 500 people. Its portfolio includes the RGW 60, RGW 90 and RGW 110 shoulder-launched weapons and the Panzerfaust 3, as well as FIRE WEAVER and B-NET command-and-control products, vehicle protection and counter-mobility systems.
In February 2025 the German procurement office BAAINBw concluded a framework agreement with DND for RGW90 launchers and cartridges and Panzerfaust 3 cartridges. In December 2024 it also signed a framework agreement for explosive reactive armour modules for the Puma infantry fighting vehicle.
SKORPION2 is a modular mine-laying system for the NG AT2+ anti-tank mine. A container with four launchers can lay up to 400 mines in under ten minutes. The system can be mounted on wheeled, tracked, trailer-based or unmanned platforms. Latvia ordered it in October 2025 and Denmark in December 2025. In June 2026 Sweden's FMV signed a framework agreement worth about SEK 4 billion that runs until 2033. In April 2026 DND and DOK-ING presented an unmanned mine-scattering system that integrates SKORPION2 on the DOK-ING MV-8 KOMODO unmanned ground vehicle.
