About EM&E Group
Spanish defence group, also known as Escribano Mechanical & Engineering, that makes remote weapon stations, electro-optics, the ODIN counter-drone systems and the aunav family of EOD and logistics robots.
EM&E Group (Escribano Mechanical & Engineering) is a Spanish defence and security group headquartered in Alcalá de Henares near Madrid. Founded in 1989, it spent about two decades as a contract manufacturer of mechanical components before integrating engineering and production in 2011. The group reports around 2,000 employees and a presence in more than 25 countries, with further sites in Córdoba, Binéfar, Cádiz, Asturias, Valencia and Barcelona and facilities abroad. Its product lines include the GUARDIAN and SENTINEL remote weapon stations, electro-optical systems, guidance kits, the EMOC mortar carrier and electronics.
For counter-UAS, EM&E offers the ODIN family with an open architecture for fixed and mobile installations: ODIN-I is a modular multi-sensor, multi-effector system with a remote weapon station on a military vehicle or trailer, ODIN-L a mobile station for protecting temporary sites and deployed troops, and ODIN-S a gyro-stabilised fixed station with IR, visible and laser rangefinder sensors. In 2026 the company presented ODIN 6x6 on the FEROX armoured vehicle, combining four radars, C2, jamming, two optically guided interceptor drones and a GUARDIAN 2.0 PRO station with a 30 mm M230LF cannon. In June 2024 Escribano, Indra and TRC agreed to develop a counter-UAS solution for the Spanish Armed Forces, including a joint venture between Escribano and Indra.
Under the aunav brand the group builds unmanned ground robots: the aunav.NEO HD multi-role UGV for explosive ordnance disposal, logistics and casualty evacuation, the dual-arm aunav.NEXT robot for EOD, IED, CBRN and VBIED missions with up to 250 kg lifting capacity, the aunav.CID Light robotic arm for route clearance on light armoured vehicles and the common aunav.ROCS operator control unit.
