About Flock Safety
Flock Safety is a public safety technology company based in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in 2017 by Garrett Langley, Matt Feury and Paige Todd. Its platform combines licence plate recognition cameras, gunshot detection sensors and the FlockOS Real-Time Crime Center software used by law enforcement agencies.
In October 2024 Flock Safety announced the acquisition of Aerodome, a developer of drone-as-first-responder (DFR) technology with detect-and-avoid software for flights beyond visual line of sight and automated battery-swapping docks. Aerodome’s drones can be dispatched automatically to incidents flagged by Flock’s licence plate readers or audio sensors.
In October 2025 the company unveiled Alpha, a US-built, NDAA-compliant DFR quadcopter with a top speed of up to 60 mph, four cellular modems and a battery-swapping dock. Police and sheriff’s offices using Flock’s DFR systems include the Dunwoody Police Department in Georgia and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
