About General Cherry
General Cherry, in Ukrainian Heneral Chereshnia, was founded in September 2023 by Yaroslav and Stanislav Hryshyn and grew out of a group of volunteers; the name refers to Melitopol, a city known for its cherries. The company did not exist as a defence manufacturer before Russia's full-scale invasion and was reported to be producing more than 50,000 FPV drones per month by mid-2025.
Its range covers FPV strike drones, the OPTIX line of fibre-optic FPV drones, which cannot be jammed by radio, and the Sweetheart reconnaissance drone with a range of up to 150 km. For air defence it has developed four interceptor platforms, among them Bullet, a fixed-wing VTOL interceptor with a reported top speed of 309 km/h, a 0.4 to 0.8 kg warhead and a tactical range of 17 to 20 km; Ukrainian forces have used its interceptors against Russian Molniya attack drones. The interceptors are listed on the Brave1 Market, through which frontline units order systems with points earned for verified results, and according to the company it topped Ukraine's effectiveness ranking for FPV strike systems in June 2026 with more than 20,000 confirmed hits.
General Cherry is expanding abroad: in April 2026 it signed a memorandum with the Croatian manufacturer Orqa on developing and producing interceptor drones and counter-drone systems in Croatia and Ukraine, and in March 2026 it announced a planned joint venture with Wilcox Industries to produce FPV and interceptor drones in the United States. Further partnerships have been reported with Finland's Patria and France's Alta Ares.
