About Ground A

Ground A GmbH is a defence technology company based in Düsseldorf, founded in January 2026 by Tobias Brune, Roland Spiegelhalder and Daniel Hariri. According to the company, it completed the prototype phase of its first system within a few months and closed a pre-seed financing round of 9.1 million euros in June 2026.

Its product, the GA 1000, combines radar, multi-sensor fusion, computer vision and AI-based tracking with a high-energy laser effector mounted on a fast pan-tilt platform with electro-optical and infrared sensors. The system fits on a Euro pallet and is powered by portable, stackable energy modules that allow operation independent of fixed infrastructure. The engagement decision always remains with a human operator.

Ground A targets armed forces, operators of critical infrastructure such as airports, power plants and ports, and public safety agencies. The GA 1000 is offered for purchase or as defence-as-a-service. In autumn 2026 the system was in its testing and validation phase, with modular series production being set up in Germany.
