About Hornet – Polskie Drony
Hornet – Polskie Drony sp. z o.o. was founded by the Polish industrial group Boryszew to industrialise unmanned aerial weapon systems developed by the Air Force Institute of Technology (ITWL). Following a letter of intent in July 2025, a conditional agreement signed on 17 October 2025 provides for ITWL to take 52 per cent of the company, with Boryszew keeping 48 per cent. Boryszew finances research and development and a pilot production batch and leases industrial space and equipment in Sochaczew to the company; ITWL contributes the design know-how, and the rights to the design belong to the Polish Ministry of National Defence.
Hornet – Polskie Drony presented its production line in Sochaczew on 9 July 2026. The delta-wing aircraft have a piston engine, a length of 2.6 metres, a wingspan of 2.2 metres and a weight of 85 kilograms, with a speed of more than 200 km/h and a range of 400 kilometres in the basic version and up to 900 to 1,200 kilometres depending on equipment. Versions shown were the PL-AT-1 aerial target, which imitates loitering munitions of similar design, and a one-way attack variant with a warhead of about 16 to 20 kilograms.
