About Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI)
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is Israel's largest aerospace and defence company and is owned by the State of Israel. It designs, develops, produces and maintains military and civil aircraft, unmanned aerial systems, missiles, avionics and space systems, and is headquartered at Ben Gurion Airport near Lod.
IAI introduced the loitering munition as a weapon class in the 1980s with the anti-radiation Harpy. Its family has since grown to include the man-in-the-loop Harop, the small Green Dragon and the vertical take-off Rotem, and the company has reported export contracts for these systems with several countries. IAI also builds the Heron family of medium- and high-altitude UAVs.
The group includes the electronics subsidiary ELTA Systems and holds a stake in BlueBird Aero Systems. Its portfolio also covers counter-UAS solutions and unmanned surface vessels.
