About KrattWorks
Estonian manufacturer of aerial target drones for air defence and counter-UAS training and of the Ghost Dragon ISR quadcopter, which supplies the Estonian Defence Forces and Ukraine.
KrattWorks OÜ is a Tallinn-based company that designs, builds and manufactures unmanned aerial systems for defence forces, from ISR drones to aerial targets. It produces in a 2,300 m² facility in Tallinn certified to ISO 9001 and AQAP 2110, and states that more than half of its team are veterans serving as reservists in the Estonian Defence Forces.
Its target drones are used to train air defence units and to test counter-drone systems. DART is a fast fixed-wing target with IR flares and a terminal dive for missile training that launches without a catapult; DART-R is a flying wing that serves as a target or decoy with an adjustable radar signature and can follow a moving platform in naval exercises. PARM is a quadcopter target that lets one operator fly several drones to emulate FPV attacks and swarms and to test radar, RF and acoustic drone detection. In 2022 the Estonian Centre for Defence Investment awarded KrattWorks a seven-year contract worth €15 million to supply aerial targets for the Estonian Defence Forces. The company is also developing a target that imitates jet-powered Shahed-type drones.
The Ghost Dragon is a NATO Class I reconnaissance quadcopter for small units that detects jamming, moves its link to clear channels and can return to the operator without GNSS or a radio link. According to Defense News it is deployed in Estonia, Georgia and Moldova, among others, and KrattWorks has supplied Ghost Dragon systems and one-way attack drones to the Ukrainian Army. The company exports to twelve markets.
