About Liebherr-Electronics and Drives
Liebherr group company in Lindau supplying control and power electronics, electric drives and energy storage systems, including electronics and battery components for unmanned systems.
Liebherr-Electronics and Drives GmbH is part of the Components product segment of the Swiss-based Liebherr group and is headquartered in Lindau (Lake Constance), with a second site at the Biberach an der Riß airfield. It was formed at the beginning of 2023 by merging Liebherr-Elektronik GmbH in Lindau with the Biberach plant of Liebherr-Components Biberach GmbH and employs more than 1,000 people.
Lindau develops and produces human-machine interfaces, gateways, sensors, and control and power electronics, and offers electronics manufacturing services (EMS) as well as testing and qualification services. Biberach builds electric motors, switchgear and energy storage systems. Besides other Liebherr divisions, the company supplies external customers in agriculture, construction, commercial vehicles, industry and aviation.
In unmanned systems the company acts as a component supplier rather than a platform manufacturer. Since 2022 the Lindau site has manufactured the Skynode autopilot and the motor controller for Quantum Systems' Vector and Scorpion unmanned aircraft. At Eurosatory 2026 the Liebherr Components segment presented a customised, modular battery concept for unmanned systems with matching chargers, a UAV flight controller produced in-house as an EMS service, and the mobile Liduro Power Port 600 energy storage unit.
