About the company
About Odonata
Odonata GmbH is based in Wessling near Munich. The company originally worked on a passenger eVTOL concept with a hybrid hydrogen powertrain and later shifted its focus to an uncrewed platform, citing the high capital requirements of crewed air taxis.
Its aircraft, Pantala, is a lift-and-cruise drone that takes off and lands vertically and flies efficiently on wings in cruise. According to the company, it carries payloads of up to 80 kg, offers an endurance of more than ten hours and a cruise range of over 1,100 km, with maximum take-off weights of 150 kg and 280 kg. The wingspan of the full-scale prototype is close to eight metres.
Odonata targets civil logistics such as middle-mile delivery, medical transport and supply of remote infrastructure, as well as defence roles including tactical resupply, ISR missions and use as a mothership carrying counter-UAS effectors.
