About Rheinmetall Provectus

Provectus Robotics Solutions Inc., operating as Rheinmetall Provectus, is an autonomous navigation company in Ottawa, Ontario. It began as a small team in 2006, was formalised in Ottawa in 2010 and was acquired in full by Rheinmetall Canada Inc. with effect from 1 June 2019, making it part of the Rheinmetall Group.

Its main product is the vehicle-agnostic Rheinmetall PATH autonomy kit, which turns existing vehicles into autonomous platforms and guides the Mission Master family of uncrewed ground vehicles. The company also offers AXUS, a modular, fully electric autonomous vehicle for transport and resupply, and the Unmanned Baggage Handler for airports. Its software uses image recognition, environment mapping, terrain analysis and obstacle detection.

Beyond defence, Provectus has worked on autonomous ground vehicles for mining, forestry and logistics, truck platooning and navigation in GPS-denied underground environments. It supports Rheinmetall Canada in programmes such as the British Army’s Robotic Platoon Vehicles experimentation.
