About Rohde & Schwarz

Rohde & Schwarz was founded in Munich in 1933 by Lothar Rohde and Hermann Schwarz and remains privately owned. The group develops test and measurement equipment, broadcast and media technology, secure communications, cybersecurity products and systems for spectrum monitoring and radiolocation, and employs several thousand people worldwide.

In the unmanned domain the company is known for ARDRONIS, a counter-UAS suite based on its radio-monitoring expertise. ARDRONIS Detect identifies the remote-control and video links of commercial drones, ARDRONIS Direction Finding locates the pilot and aircraft, and jamming components can interrupt the control link. The modular system is used by armed forces, security authorities and operators of critical infrastructure.

Rohde & Schwarz also supplies software-defined radios, electronic-warfare receivers and secure communication for military platforms, including data links relevant to unmanned systems, and has an Austrian subsidiary in Vienna.
