About RTC
Research and Technological Center, RTC d.o.o. is a research, design and development company based in Maribor, Slovenia. Founded in 2000 as a non-profit R&D centre for four companies developing tractors and buses, it became a private limited company in 2011 and initially concentrated on construction and forestry machinery. Today the company focuses on defence, green energy and electric and hybrid vehicles, and offers engineering from concept and mechanical design to electronics, automation, prototyping and testing.
Its main defence product is CORNUS, a modular 6×6 unmanned ground vehicle with a diesel-electric hybrid drive and a silent electric-only mode. The 12-tonne platform carries up to 4 tonnes of mission modules or cargo, moves autonomously or by remote control from a ground control station and can serve as an external power unit. RTC has shown logistics modules as well as combat modules with the Loki 12.7 and Mangart 25 remote weapon stations from Valhalla Turrets. In June 2026 Steyr Motors announced that CORNUS will be powered by one of its engines.
The AR-AT5000 active trailer, developed for the VEPKOV platform and compatible with the Oshkosh JLTV, has an active drawbar and a hydraulic drive that supports the towing vehicle on steep terrain and allows independent manoeuvring. The EUTV 4×4 is an 80 kW electric ATV in the L7e category with hot-swappable batteries and an optional remotely operated cargo configuration. RTC also offers MINI MOSS, a small tracked UGV for transporting and laying anti-tank mines. In November 2025 the Slovenian defence minister visited the company and viewed the VEPKOV vehicle under assembly and the UGVMIN 10 mine-laying robot.
