About Sphere Defense

Sphere Defense SRL has been registered in the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises since December 2025, with its seat in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean in the Brussels-Capital Region. The company says it was founded by drone industry experts and that its systems are engineered in Belgium and manufactured in Europe with an EU-centred supply chain.

Its counter-UAS system is designed as an effector layer cued by third-party detection and command and control. It combines a jet-powered interceptor with an EW-hardened radio datalink and AI-based autonomous guidance, a man-portable launch base described as SAPIENT-native and C2-agnostic, and embedded AI for multi-sensor fusion and last-mile target lock. Intended uses include point defence of power plants, ports, airports and government or military sites against strike drones such as Shahed-style types. Imagery on the company website names the system Legolas MK1.

The system was presented at BEDEX 2026 in Brussels. According to Army Recognition, the company states that it is designed for mass production, contains no ITAR-regulated components and can be produced in partner countries.
