About ThirdEye Systems

Israeli developer of AI-based electro-optical systems for detecting, classifying and intercepting drones, including the MeduzaX counter-UAV system and the Iron Web last-line-of-defence system.

ThirdEye Systems Ltd. is based in Netanya, Israel, and develops object recognition algorithms in the thermal spectrum, building on a background in computer vision and drone control. It was co-founded by CEO Lior Segal, CTO Yoel Motola and COO Gil Barak. The company has been listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange since July 2021. It states that its products are in service with the Israel Defense Forces and are used by defence companies, and it is certified to ISO 9001:2015.

Its counter-drone products combine thermal and visible-light cameras with AI-based detection and classification. MeduzaX is aimed at tactical units, VIP protection and critical assets; Iron Web is described as a last line of defence that uses autonomous EO/IR detection, precision ranging and interception to provide 360-degree protection against low-signature threats, including for armoured vehicles. Argus Shield is detection and classification software that runs on third-party EO/IR systems, and TESSERACT upgrades existing cooled or uncooled payloads for drone detection, recognition and tracking. In October 2023 the company reported an order from a local customer for dozens of Meduza systems worth up to NIS 15 million.

For use on unmanned platforms, ThirdEye offers the CHIMERA UL day/night payload with an uncooled LWIR imager and onboard analytics, the vEYE investigation payload and the fEYE perception system for unmanned ground vehicles with thermal 3D mapping and obstacle detection. In January 2025 the UAE defence group EDGE agreed to invest USD 10 million for a 30 percent stake and to set up a joint venture that licenses ThirdEye's technology for selected markets; the deal required approval by the Israeli Ministry of Defense. At that time the company reported an order backlog of USD 30 million, partly from the Israeli Ministry of Defense.
