About Thyra

Thyra GmbH is a defence technology company based in Darmstadt that develops counter-drone systems. Development and production take place in Germany. According to trade press, the company was set up by members of Wingcopter's management and is now led by Dr. Philipp Heinzl.

Its main product, Neptor, is an interceptor drone offered as a complete system with a launch station. The company states a top speed of 350 km/h, thermal detection at up to 24 km, a maximum take-off weight of 3.2 kg and a payload of 0.5 kg. A man-portable MANPAD variant works on a lock-before-launch principle, after which the drone flies autonomously to the target; a stationary remote launcher keeps the drone charged and can be deployed from concealed positions without an operator on site.

The development of the reusable interceptor system is co-funded by the European Union. In April 2026 Thyra and Ukraine's TAF Industries signed a letter of intent to form a joint venture for producing TAF's Kolibri i10 interceptor drone and other interceptors in Germany.
