About Upteko
Danish drone manufacturer from Skanderborg that supplies FPV training drones to the Danish Defence, which has donated Upteko surveillance and tactical drones to the Kenya Navy, and plans joint FPV drone production with Ukraine's TAF Industries.
Upteko ApS was founded in 2018 by Mads Jørgensen, Benjamin Mejnertz and Sebastian Duus and is based in Skanderborg, Denmark. The company develops complete autonomous drone systems, combining unmanned aircraft, electronics, software and hardware. It originally focused on offshore and maritime applications and has since moved its focus to defence and security; its current target sectors are defence and armed forces, public safety and critical infrastructure. Products listed in industry directories include the LARK offshore platform and the compact SWIFT observation drone with a maximum take-off weight of 4 kg.
Upteko supplies the Danish Defence. Under the dynamic purchasing system for unmanned aerial systems, the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) bought fifty sets of FPV multicopter systems from Upteko for training, each consisting of five aircraft and spare parts, at a value of about EUR 470,000, according to a contract award notice published in July 2026. In February 2026 the Danish Defence donated Upteko drones to the Kenya Navy: a surveillance drone for monitoring Kenyan bases and installations and a smaller tactical drone for special forces patrolling the swamps and mangroves near the Somali border.
In August 2026 Upteko and the Ukrainian drone manufacturer TAF Industries signed a memorandum of intent to produce FPV drones jointly in Denmark under the Build with Ukraine initiative, with output of thousands of drones per month planned from early 2027.
