About VIGO Photonics
VIGO Photonics S.A., formerly VIGO System, develops and manufactures mid-infrared detectors, detection modules and semiconductor materials. The company has been operating since 1987, is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2014 and produces its detectors at its facility in Ożarów Mazowiecki near Warsaw. A subsidiary operates in the United States.
Defence is one of its main markets. In May 2025 VIGO signed a strategic framework agreement with PCO S.A. worth nearly PLN 200 million for cooled infrared focal plane arrays based on type-II superlattice (T2SL) technology, intended for thermal imaging systems on military platforms and air defence systems. At the MSPO defence exhibition in Kielce in September 2025 it signed letters of intent with CRW Telesystem-Mesko on optoelectronics for guided missiles and munitions and with PCO on photonic integrated circuits for the Polish Army.
Other defence applications named by the company include detectors for fire and laser warning systems in military vehicles and the HELIOS helmet-mounted laser illumination warning system. VIGO lists UAV gimbals among the applications of its infrared imaging detectors for night and low-visibility observation.
