Onberg Autonomous Systems has opened a Live Hub for integrated counter-unmanned aircraft systems (counter-UAS) solutions in Brandenburg an der Havel. The company is a German-American-Israeli joint venture. The new facility is used for demonstration and testing and is aimed at industrial companies, authorities, armed forces and all operators of critical infrastructure. Visitors can see under realistic conditions how modern counter-drone systems interlock.

At its core is a multi-layered, modular and scalable counter-UAS architecture. It links everything from detection and command to effectors into an overall system designed to enable short reaction times even in dynamic operational scenarios. In the long term, development, production and support of the systems are to take place entirely in Germany, Onberg said in a recent press release.

Reactions to the opening of the counter-UAS site

The opening took place on the occasion of the Onberg Demo Days, which were also attended by Jan Redmann, Minister of the Interior of Brandenburg. He said:

“Security and the economy belong together. Brandenburg an der Havel is now becoming the place where this is not theory but can be experienced live. That is good for the region. And a sign that the location plays an important role: for technologies that will gain considerably in relevance in the coming years.”— Jan Redmann, Minister of the Interior of Brandenburg
“With the Live Hub, we are showing counter-drone defence in live operation and under real conditions. Here, decision-makers from authorities, critical infrastructure operators, armed forces and industry can experience how integrated protection works in practice. Onberg stands for fully integrated protection from a single source and for a tangible contribution to Europe's technological sovereignty and security.”— Michael Wellenzohn, member of the Advisory Board of Onberg and CEO of HD Advanced Technologies GmbH

Onberg develops integrated counter-drone solutions to protect military facilities and critical infrastructure. The company was founded in 2026 as a joint venture by Ondas Autonomous Systems and HD Advanced Technologies GmbH, part of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
