Kaboom Technologies has commenced operations: the newly founded company based in Budapest brings together, by its own account, the technologies and solutions of more than 30 international firms from the defence and security technology sector under one roof.

Technological expertise from the USA, Europe and Israel is to meet Hungarian capacities in engineering, production and business development – with the aim of joint development and manufacturing projects for Hungary and the European market.

The target customers are government institutions and security organisations. The offering is aimed at the fields of defence, border protection and law enforcement as well as cybersecurity and the protection of critical infrastructure. Technologically, the focus is on autonomous and unmanned systems, counter-UAS, cybersecurity and surveillance technology as well as the protection of critical facilities.

According to the company, the portfolio includes technology providers from the fields of drones, cybersecurity and defence technology, among others. The following are named as examples of companies represented:

  • the Ondas Group with several subsidiaries, including Airobotics, Sentrics and Omnisys
  • XTEND, Commit, RT, Capture, IDS, Masada and Topcar

Kaboom Technologies plans production in Hungary

By its own account, the company does not intend to settle for pure sales and brokerage: together with international partners, production, integration and development are in future also to take place in Hungary. According to Kaboom Technologies, this could create around 800 jobs.

At present the company is at the beginning and is working with international partners on the first joint projects. Within five years, Kaboom Technologies aims to reach revenue of 70 billion forints (around 192 million euros). The company justifies this target with the expected growth in global defence spending – from currently around 2.9 billion US dollars to about 3.4 billion US dollars by 2030, according to company figures.
