Kamikaze drones for Kosovo: Serbian President Vučić attacks Turkey
Turkey has delivered thousands of Skydagger kamikaze drones to Kosovo. Belgrade sees this as a breach of UN resolutions, and President Aleksandar Vučić speaks of dreams of reviving the Ottoman Empire.

Ankara is destabilising the Western Balkans – this is the accusation Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has levelled against Turkey. The trigger is kamikaze drones: Turkey has delivered thousands of Skydagger units, designed for control with a first-person view (FPV), to Kosovo.
Vučić vented his anger on the X platform: “I am appalled by Turkey's behaviour and the brutal violation of the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 1244, as well as by the continued arming of the authorities in Pristina.”
He added: “It is now completely clear that Turkey does not want stability in the Western Balkans and dreams of reviving the Ottoman Empire. Serbia is a small country, but we have understood the message well!”
According to Belgrade, supplying weapons to Pristina violates applicable UN resolutions. In 1998 a UN resolution prohibited selling or supplying weapons to Kosovo. Under a further resolution from 1999, weapons and related equipment may only go to the international civil and security presence. The drone sale to Pristina does not fall under these exceptions, Vučić stresses.

Skydagger RTF: kamikaze drones in three sizes
The aircraft are made by Skydagger Drones, a company founded in 2024 whose FPV drone family is called Skydagger RTF. The models are offered in 7-inch (around 18 centimetres), 10-inch (around 25 centimetres) and 15-inch (around 38 centimetres) versions. With 12 to 36 minutes of flight time and a payload of 2 to 5 kilograms, the range is up to 10 kilometres. The Skydagger is equipped with a dual camera operating in daylight and thermal imaging modes.
Kosovo regularly buys Turkish equipment
As early as 2023, Bayraktar TB2 drones from Turkey went to Kosovo, designed for medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) operations. Ankara also supplied Roketsan's Omtas anti-tank systems and MKE's HAR66 light anti-tank weapons. Several armoured personnel carriers, such as the Otokar Cobra and the BMC Vuran, were also handed over.
