Bayraktar TB2: Croatian Armed Forces test their six new drones
Croatia ordered six Bayraktar TB2 plus equipment for 67 million euros, and tests with Baykar specialists are now under way in Velika Gorica. According to current information, full operational capability will be reached by the end of September.

The Croatian Armed Forces have begun testing their new Bayraktar TB2 drones at the “Colonel Marko Živković” barracks in Velika Gorica. All six systems and their equipment will be tested over the coming days – by day and night and throughout Croatian airspace.
According to a recent report by the Croatian military platform “Hrvatski Vojnik”, specialists from the manufacturer Baykar are involved, together with Croatian soldiers who had previously been trained in Türkiye.
What the Bayraktar TB2 package includes
Croatia ordered the TB2 in November 2024 for 67 million euros. In addition to the armed drones, the package comprises a command and control centre, simulators, ground stations, spare parts and ammunition, plus two years of technical support from Baykar.
The first drone arrived at the end of July; it was recently shown at the military parade marking the 30th anniversary of the military and police operation “Oluja”. The systems can be used not only for combat tasks but also for reconnaissance, border surveillance and disaster relief. 37 states now operate the TB2 system, including several NATO members.
Full operational capability was originally planned for the end of September. According to current information, this goal will be met – the project is even slightly ahead of schedule.
