FPV drone against Mi-28: Ukrainian attack on Russian helicopter caught on video
A published video shows a Ukrainian FPV drone closing in on a Russian Mi-28. Whether the helicopter was damaged or shot down remains unclear – the footage ends with the detonation of the warhead.

For several days now, relevant forums have been claiming that a Ukrainian first-person view (FPV) drone hit a Russian helicopter. A handful of videos of such attempted hits were already known. In every case, however, the helicopters were too fast, and the interception angle was not sufficient to make up for this disadvantage. This time, though, the attack appears to have actually succeeded.
What the FPV drone video shows
The footage now released shows the drone approaching a Russian Mi-28 helicopter. As is usual with such attacks, the picture ends at the moment the warhead detonates. Whether and how badly the aircraft was damaged, or whether it was even shot down, therefore cannot be determined from the video.
Whatever the outcome: once again, the attack proves that with good pilots and capable drones flown from a first-person perspective, a wide variety of targets can be engaged successfully and cost-effectively – entirely adequate tools, then. In skilled hands, the FPV drone becomes a versatile weapon.
