FPV drone OsA Okta: Russia's army supplies front sectors with eight-motor cargo drone
Double frame, eight motors, up to 13 kilograms of payload: with the OsA Okta, the Russian army is using an FPV drone for logistics in hard-to-reach front areas. It was developed by a company from Arkhangelsk.

In hard-to-reach front areas, the Russian army has recently begun using a new FPV drone to transport cargo (first-person view, FPV). Measured against what has become established in the FPV field, the OsA Okta with its 10-inch frame is rather small. Yet it has one special feature: frame, motors and propellers are doubled – eight motors, eight propellers – as if the designers had mounted two 10-inch drones on top of each other.

The drone is used to supply units with ammunition, medicines, rations, equipment and other necessary goods. A payload of up to ten kilograms is considered optimal, with a maximum of up to 13 kilograms said to be possible.

An 8,000 mAh battery allows up to 25 minutes of flight time and a range of up to 30 kilometres. The OsA Okta is said to have a protected digital system on board for control and video transmission.
The drone was developed by the company Alex.Com from Arkhangelsk. According to Russian sources, the OsA Okta is currently in use in the Donetsk, Luhansk and Belgorod regions. Its advantages are expected above all in difficult conditions, such as the muddy seasons in autumn and spring.
