About Avilus
Avilus GmbH, based in Ismaning near Munich, describes itself as a manufacturer and certified operator of dual-use uncrewed aircraft. Its systems are intended for medical evacuation, resupply, logistics, intelligence and surveillance missions where conventional aviation is too costly, too risky or unavailable.
The product range comprises Grille, an all-electric uncrewed aircraft for evacuation and resupply, the multi-role cargo aircraft Wespe and the long-endurance surveillance system Bussard. All aircraft share the RasCore avionics and ground control system, which forms two redundant remote pilot stations and can be integrated with battle management systems. The latest Grille X4 version made its first flight in June 2026.
In July 2026 the Bundeswehr contracted Avilus to deliver two demonstrator systems of the Grille rescue aircraft, including flight trials and operator training. Avilus also offers its aircraft as an operational service and has established a subsidiary, Avilus Australia Pty Ltd, in Melbourne.
