Rescue drone Grille: Bundeswehr orders test units from Avilus
A rescue drone for unmanned patient transport: Avilus is supplying the Bundeswehr with two Grille systems, including flight trials and training. Soldiers will be trained first, followed by intensive flight operations.

Avilus is to supply the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) with test units of its rescue drone Grille; the armed forces have placed the order. The aim is to expand unmanned airborne capabilities – for medical evacuation as well as for logistics tasks.
Specifically, the project comprises two flying unmanned systems, plus flight trials and operator training. The platform is to be adapted, together with the Bundeswehr Medical Service, to the requirements of uncrewed patient transport.
Rescue drone under real-world conditions
According to Avilus, soldiers will be trained first before intensive flying begins. The system is thus to be tested and further developed in a real-world environment.
