About DeltaQuad

Dutch manufacturer of the DeltaQuad Evo and Evo-LE, electric fixed-wing VTOL drones for ISTAR, border surveillance and radio relay, which the Netherlands has procured for Ukraine's armed forces.

DeltaQuad is a drone manufacturer based in Duivendrecht near Amsterdam and led by CEO Sander Smeets. It develops long-range unmanned aircraft that take off and land vertically and cruise as fixed-wing aircraft. The company names security and defence as one of its markets alongside mapping, agriculture, infrastructure inspection and humanitarian work.

The DeltaQuad Evo is an electric, autonomous VTOL aircraft with a wingspan of nearly three metres and a modular, user-serviceable design. It can carry two payloads at once, up to 3 kg in total, and the company states a flight time of more than four hours and a maximum flight range of 272 km. The Evo-LE, introduced in 2026, shares the Evo airframe but uses a dual-battery configuration for up to eight hours of flight with a 1.5 kg payload and a radio range of 120 km. It is aimed at ISTAR, border surveillance and radio relay and can be fitted with CRPA anti-jamming GNSS, optional visual navigation, mesh and phased-array radios with AES-256 encryption and Auterion Tactical Stack avionics.

In October 2024 the Dutch Ministry of Defence ordered DeltaQuad ISR drones worth EUR 42.6 million for Ukraine, the first measure under the Dutch-Ukrainian Drone Action Plan; the company says the Evo has proven itself on the front line in Ukraine. In July 2025 DeltaQuad and VDL Groep agreed a partnership to add Evo production lines at VDL's site in Born, Limburg, to meet demand from national and international defence customers.
