About Dufour Aerospace
Dufour Aerospace AG was founded in 2017 in Visp, canton of Valais, Switzerland, by Thomas Pfammatter, Dominique Steffen and Jasmine Kent. The company also runs a technology office at the Innovation Park in Dübendorf near Zurich. Its aircraft are based on the tilt-wing principle: they take off and land vertically like a helicopter and cruise on the wing like an aeroplane.
The first product is the unmanned Aero-200, previously called Aero2, a hybrid-electric tilt-wing aircraft with a payload of around 40 kilograms, a projected range of up to 400 kilometres and a cruising speed of about 92 knots. Target missions include medical cargo, organ transport, island resupply and public safety. The aircraft is operated through the company's own DufourOS flight computer and fleet management software.
Dufour has an agreement with the US operator Areion UAS for 40 aircraft with an option for 100 more and aims to begin deliveries in 2026. The larger Aero3, originally planned as a crewed or uncrewed eight-seat tilt-wing aircraft, was defined in cooperation with Swiss Air-Rescue Rega but is currently not the development focus.
