About L3Harris Technologies
US defence technology group headquartered in Melbourne, Florida, whose unmanned portfolio includes the T7 and T4 EOD robots, the VAMPIRE counter-UAS system, autonomous surface vessels and the AMORPHOUS autonomy software.
L3Harris Technologies was formed on 29 June 2019 through the all-stock merger of Harris Corporation and L3 Technologies and is headquartered in Melbourne, Florida. The group reports annual revenue of more than $21.9 billion, is organised in three segments and works with customers in more than 100 countries across the space, air, land, sea and cyber domains. Its unmanned activities span ground robots, counter-drone systems, uncrewed surface vessels and autonomy software.
The T7 is a multi-mission unmanned ground vehicle for explosive ordnance disposal, hazardous materials, ISR and SWAT tasks, with a haptic force-feedback controller, a reach of 2.2 m horizontally and 3.1 m vertically, and EMI shielding for use alongside active jammers. It shares its controller and parts with the smaller T4. Under Project STARTER the UK Ministry of Defence replaced its EOD robot fleet with 122 T7 robots, and in 2021 the U.S. Air Force awarded a ten-year, $85 million IDIQ contract for up to 170 T7 robots. The Australian Defence Force operates both T4 and T7.
VAMPIRE (Vehicle-Agnostic Modular Palletized ISR Rocket Equipment) is a self-contained counter-UAS weapon system that combines a WESCAM MX-10D EO/IR targeting sensor with laser-guided rockets and can be installed on vehicles and vessels. L3Harris delivered systems for Ukraine through the U.S. Navy in 2023, opened a dedicated production facility in Huntsville, Alabama, in 2026 and began deliveries against a $106 million U.S. Army order in October 2026. In the maritime domain the company was selected in 2020 as prime contractor for the U.S. Navy's Medium Unmanned Surface Vehicle programme and developed the ASView autonomous control system. AMORPHOUS, launched in February 2025, is software that lets a single operator control mixed fleets of uncrewed systems, including platforms from other manufacturers.
