Counter-UAS: Droneshield and Origin Robotics sign memorandum of understanding
Sensor fusion meets interceptor drone: Droneshield and Origin Robotics intend to pursue joint counter-UAS projects in future. Shahed-type threats are explicitly named as a focus of the cooperation.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) is intended to formally advance the cooperation of Droneshield and Origin Robotics in defence and security projects. The two companies jointly announced the signing; the focus is on counter-drone defence.
What both sides contribute is combat-proven and already used in demanding operational environments. Droneshield brings capabilities in detection, electronic warfare, sensor fusion and command and control (C2) systems. Origin Robotics, in turn, contributes autonomous platforms designed for interception and rapid deployment. Several European governments recently selected the company's Blaze platform, which is now moving into operational use.
Countering unmanned aircraft systems (counter-UAS) has entered a phase in which accuracy, speed and scalability are non-negotiable. Our sensor fusion capability delivers world-leading quality target data and enables operators to continuously improve drone detection— Angus Bean, Chief Product Officer at Droneshield
By partnering with Origin, we are creating an approach that directly addresses the need to defeat Shahed-type threats and offers operators a mature, cost-effective and operationally credible approach as part of a layered sensor and effector solution.— Angus Bean, Chief Product Officer at Droneshield
Framework for joint counter-UAS projects
The MoU gives both companies a structured framework to work together on projects addressing new counter-UAS requirements. At the same time, the agreement is intended to give operators access to a powerful combination: Droneshield's Sensor Fusion AI and Drone Sentry-C2 provide the detection and tracking capabilities that seamlessly enable the proven precision of interceptor-drone defence delivered by Origin Robotics' autonomous systems.
The threat environment is changing, driven by long-range, low-cost kamikaze drones such as the Shahed drones, which are in widespread use. Interceptor drones are therefore increasingly being examined as a complementary effector in modern, layered counter-UAS architectures – for example in Droneshield's Drone Sentry.
Our autonomous interceptor platforms are developed for the realities of modern conflict, in which traditional systems often struggle to respond quickly or cost-effectively. The partnership with Droneshield allows us to combine best-in-class detection with real-time interception capabilities, creating a more responsive and scalable approach to counter-UAS operations.— Agris Kipurs, CEO of Origin Robotics
