Interceptor drones for Ukraine's National Guard: Quantum Systems to supply 15,000 units

Ukraine is increasingly relying on interceptor drones against Russian attack drones. Quantum Systems has now received an order for 15,000 units – made possible by its investment in the Ukrainian manufacturer WIY Drones.

In the fight against Russian attack drones, Ukraine can no longer do without interceptor drones for counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) defence. The country's security and defence forces have therefore commissioned Quantum Systems to deliver 15,000 interceptor drones to the National Guard of Ukraine.

The order was preceded by an investment by Quantum Systems in the Ukrainian drone manufacturer WIY Drones. The company develops and produces interceptor drones, reconnaissance and attack UAVs – unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) – ground control stations and the associated systems.

Together the two companies intend to expand production of the Strila interceptor drone (Ukrainian for "arrow"), developed specifically to intercept fast aerial targets. To meet urgent demand, production will first be ramped up in Ukraine. Production surpluses could be exported in future.

The company intends to announce further details on Strila and on the planned joint development and production activities of Quantum Systems and WIY Drones shortly.

With the partnership, Quantum Systems is pursuing its overarching strategy: combat-proven innovations from Ukraine are to be scaled and made available to Ukraine as well as to international partners.
