Hensoldt Austria is getting a managing director from its own ranks: Maximilian Brunner, until now head of the Vienna site of Hensoldt, is now at the helm of Hensoldt Austria GmbH with immediate effect.

Hensoldt Austria consolidates its activities in Vienna

The appointment is linked to a reorganisation of the group's Austrian business. The Hensoldt Analytics GmbH, previously based in Vienna, will in future operate under the name Hensoldt Austria GmbH. At the same time, its activities will be combined with those of the former ESG site in Vienna. In this way, the sensor specialist aims to pool expertise and further strengthen its operational presence in Austria.

The background is the growing importance of Austria as a location within the Hensoldt group. The merger is intended to create a clear structure and to enable products and services to be brought to market in an even more targeted way.

The company also sees good prospects in Austria for the coming years, as demand for modern sensor, analysis and integration solutions is growing – in the military sector as well as among security authorities.

Brunner joined ESG when he came on board in September 2024; after Hensoldt took over the ESG business, he has been part of the group since January 2025. Before that, he worked among other roles as Project Manager at Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles in Vienna. Further stages of his career were Intec Industrie-Technik GmbH and Hico-ICS GmbH.
