Christina Canitz takes over Hensoldt Optronics from Tanya Altmann
People and appointments at Hensoldt: former Chief Procurement Officer Christina Canitz moves to the head of Optronics. CEO Oliver Dörre points to her experience in supply chain, procurement and production; the handover was by mutual agreement.

Christina Canitz, previously the company's Chief Procurement Officer, has recently taken charge of the Optronics business unit of Hensoldt – one of the latest people and appointments in the industry. She succeeds Tanya Altmann, who had led the unit since February 2023 and is handing over the role to her successor by mutual agreement.
CEO Oliver Dörre is convinced of the new head:
“With her many years of experience in our industry and her professional background in supply chain, procurement and production, Christina Canitz is the right candidate for this role.”— Oliver Dörre, CEO of Hensoldt
Under Canitz's leadership, Optronics can continue its successful development, Dörre said. With the change, Hensoldt is also sending a clear signal of continuity and innovation at the head of the division.
Hensoldt division with around 1,000 employees
Around 1,000 employees develop and manufacture precise electro-optical systems for military and civilian purposes in the Optronics business unit at its main site in Oberkochen. The range extends from thermal imaging cameras and periscopes for armoured vehicles and submarines to precision optics for semiconductor manufacturing.
In the statement, Dörre thanked the outgoing head:
“During her tenure, Tanya Altmann brought the Optronics business unit back on course in a difficult environment, achieved significant growth and initiated many important elements of the transformation towards more digital products. We would like to thank her warmly for her outstanding commitment and leadership.”— Oliver Dörre, CEO of Hensoldt
