Combat drone Camcopter S-301: Schiebel shows armed version in the Middle East for the first time
Rocket launchers and laser-guided missiles from Thales, up to 24 hours of endurance: at UMEX 2026 in Abu Dhabi, Schiebel presented the Camcopter S-301 combat drone – an unmanned helicopter system.

At UMEX 2026 in Abu Dhabi, drone manufacturer Schiebel presented an armed Camcopter S-301 combat drone in the Middle East for the first time. The unmanned helicopter system was equipped with two Thales FZ602 rocket launchers and 70-millimetre Thales FZ275 laser-guided missiles.
Key data of the combat drone
The Camcopter S-301 is designed as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with a single main rotor and a tail rotor. It is 4.85 metres long, 1.72 metres wide and powered by a 79 hp engine. Endurance is up to 24 hours, maximum gross payload 340 kilograms.

The S-301 can be operated at altitudes of up to 5,500 metres. In line-of-sight operation it has a range of up to 200 kilometres; satellite communications can extend it further.
Apart from armament, the Camcopter S-301 can carry a wide range of modular mission payloads – for example multi-channel electro-optical reconnaissance systems, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems and systems for electronic warfare and self-protection. Schiebel thus clearly positions the S-301 as a versatile platform for reconnaissance, surveillance and armed missions.
