About Schiebel
Schiebel Elektronische Geräte GmbH is a family-owned Austrian company headquartered in Vienna, with production in Wiener Neustadt. Founded in 1951, it originally built electronic equipment and mine detectors before moving into unmanned aviation in the 1990s.
Its core product is the Camcopter S-100, a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned helicopter used by navies, coast guards and armed forces for maritime and land surveillance; it has been operated from ships of several European and Asian navies. The larger Camcopter S-300 extends the concept to heavier payloads and longer endurance.
Schiebel maintains subsidiaries and support sites in France, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Australia.
