Trinity drones: Quantum Systems donates 100 mapping drones, Kyiv mayor Klitschko accepts them
For disaster relief, damage assessment and surveying: Quantum Systems is providing Ukraine with 100 Trinity drones. They will be operated by the State Border Guard Service, with training by the manufacturer’s SSTLC.

Vitali Klitschko, mayor of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, accepted a donation of 100 Trinity drones for mapping from the German manufacturer Quantum Systems a few days ago. The aircraft are configured for various disaster relief, damage assessment and surveying missions; their purpose is the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The donation had been pledged by Florian Seibel, founder and CEO of Quantum Systems. It was made possible by the German non-profit foundation #WeAreAllUkrainians, through which the Trinity drones went to Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service. Managing director Sven Kruck said: “We will not only send our Trinity drones but also support their operation through repair and maintenance at our facilities in the country, and train the operators of the Ukrainian border guard. We are committed to Ukraine in its fight for independence and beyond.”
Quantum Systems delivers in two stages
The first delivery of 28 Trinity drones was handed over on 30 July. The remaining 72 drones are due in Ukraine by the end of the year. In addition to the donation, Quantum Systems LLC will support the systems in operation on site and provide repair and maintenance services. The Quantum Systems Service, Support, Training & Logistics Center (SSTLC) will also train the operators from Ukraine’s state border guard services.
Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko described their use as follows: “The border guards will use the equipment to organise control of Ukraine’s borders and respond to various challenges, as well as for surveying and mapping infrastructure. The SSTLC instructors will train border guard personnel after the first delivery and will be responsible for all support, training and logistics activities.”
61-megapixel Sony camera on board
For mapping and surveying, each Trinity drone carries a 61-megapixel Sony RGB camera. It is intended to help Ukraine assess environmental and combat damage and to survey and map terrain and critical infrastructure. The drones thus provide important data and information for reconstruction and humanitarian aid.
