About Roketsan
Roketsan A.Ş. is a Turkish defence company founded on 14 June 1988 by decision of the country’s Defence Industries Executive Committee. Its facilities are in Elmadağ, Ankara, where it moved in 1991. The company belongs to the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, which holds 55 per cent; further shareholders include MKE, ASELSAN and VakıfBank. Its portfolio spans land, air, naval, air defence and space systems as well as ballistic protection and subsystems.
For uncrewed aircraft, Roketsan produces the MAM family of semi-active laser-guided smart munitions designed for UAVs and light attack aircraft. According to the company, the MAM-C has a 70 mm diameter, weighs 6.5 kg and reaches 1 to 8 km, while the MAM-L has a 160 mm diameter, weighs 23 kg and reaches up to 15 km. The range also includes MAM-T, imaging infrared variants and loitering munitions such as ALPAGUT and EREN.
For counter-drone use, Roketsan offers ALKA, a directed energy weapon system that combines electromagnetic jamming with a laser destruction system in a two-layer architecture against drones, loitering munitions, mini and micro UAVs, improvised explosive devices and uncrewed marine vehicles. In February 2026 Roketsan and the Australian company Electro Optic Systems signed a strategic partnership agreement to pursue integrated counter-drone and force protection opportunities in selected markets.
