About TYTAN Technologies
TYTAN Technologies GmbH was founded in Munich in 2023 by Balazs Nagy and Batuhan Yumurtaci, who started out as students at the Technical University of Munich. The company develops autonomous interceptor drones intended as a low-cost layer of air defence against unmanned aerial threats.
Its two interceptors, METIS and EOS, use ground radar cueing, autonomous navigation and AI-supported thermal cameras to detect, track and engage targets, with a single operator able to supervise several interceptors. The systems are aimed at NATO Class I and Class II drones and have been used and tested in Ukraine.
In 2025 the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) commissioned TYTAN to develop a demonstrator for protecting military sites against drones. In 2026 the company closed a Series A round of more than 30 million euros co-led by Armira and the NATO Innovation Fund and announced a production facility in Munich.
