Deutz and Tytan Technologies have agreed a strategic partnership to jointly develop modern energy and propulsion solutions for counter-drone defence. According to a recent press release, Deutz is participating in the current funding round – a stake meant to underpin long-term cooperation.

Sebastian Schulte, CEO of Deutz AG, puts the step into context:

With the partnership and stake in Tytan Technologies, we are further expanding our position as a provider of modern propulsion and energy systems in the defence sector. Tytan Technologies brings outstanding expertise in AI-supported counter-drone defence. As an industrial partner, we help with the development, industrialisation and integration of complex propulsion and energy systems. Always with the aim of quickly bringing new technologies into series production— Sebastian Schulte, CEO of Deutz AG

As evidence, Schulte pointed to earlier steps: “The acquisition of propulsion specialist Sobek and the strategic partnership with and stake in ARX Robotics have already made this clear.”

The two companies plan to cooperate in three areas: providing suitable propulsion solutions for interceptor drones, developing and supplying modular, decentralised energy and battery systems for launcher applications, and assembling and carrying out final acceptance of technical subsystems.

With its additional financial stake in Tytan Technologies, Deutz underlines the long-term importance of the cooperation. This further strengthens its position in the growing market for unmanned defence systems.

Deutz will support us with industrial know-how and capacity to secure our supply chain in Europe and to ramp up production further. We firmly believe in the synergies that arise from working with a strong industrial partner like Deutz.— Balázs Nagy, CEO and co-founder of Tytan Technologies

For Deutz, the agreement further expands its activities in security- and defence-related mobility and energy solutions. The company brings many years of experience in robust propulsion systems, mobile power generation and energy storage, as well as in the industrial implementation of complex technical solutions. It already uses this to help armed forces worldwide maintain operational readiness.
