Counter-UAS UGV: HT Division and MKE combine Katica platform with Tolga system

A Hungarian-Turkish project sealed at Saha Expo 2026 in Istanbul: the counter-UAS UGV is to carry radar, a jamming system, laser weapons and guns, and engage targets even while on the move.

Two companies have signed a letter of intent at Saha Expo 2026 in Istanbul, an international defence and aerospace exhibition, to jointly develop a counter-UAS unmanned ground vehicle (UGV): the Hungarian company HT Division Zrt. and the Turkish defence and industrial company Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE) A.Ş.

At the core of the strategic partnership is the integration of MKE's Tolga Close-In Air Defense System (short-range air defence, SHORAD) into HT Division's versatile Katica platform for UGVs.

The new ground drone is based on HT Division's six-wheeled Katica platform, combined with Tolga, the Turkish short-range air defence system. Integrated are a Gökbörü AESA radar for 360-degree surveillance, an electronic jamming system, laser weapons and automated guns firing special counter-drone ammunition. Advanced stabilisation is intended to allow targets to be engaged while the UGV is moving, maximising mobile SHORAD capability.

The Hungarian company stressed: “This agreement marks a significant milestone for HT Division in delivering operational, autonomous solutions to European and international security forces. By combining the Katica UGV platform with MKE's Tolga system, we are delivering a strategic force multiplier that closes critical gaps on the battlefield.”

The partnership also strengthens industrial ties between Hungary and Turkey. Both sides thereby underline their shared commitment to innovation, interoperability and the further development of autonomous combat systems.
