Drone detection: Netherlands orders 100 radars from Robin Radar in urgent procurement
Following drone sightings over Volkel and Eindhoven, the Netherlands armed forces are stepping up the pace: 100 radar systems for drone detection are coming from Robin Radar, and the first delivery has already arrived.

In an urgent procurement, the Netherlands armed forces are buying 100 new radar systems from Robin Radar for early drone detection. Only days ago, they announced major investments in their counter-drone capabilities. The first systems for detecting drones arrive today.
The state-of-the-art radars reliably distinguish between drones, birds and other moving objects. When suspicious movements occur in the airspace, the armed forces should gain valuable extra time and be able to react quickly. The systems will be used by various units and stationed at air bases and other critical infrastructure.
Incidents make drone detection urgent
The speed of the procurement follows several incidents in which drones were observed over Volkel and Eindhoven air bases. Given this urgency, the armed forces and Robin Radar aim to deliver as quickly as possible.
The 100 systems will be delivered in several stages. The armed forces are receiving the first radars today, and the entire delivery is to be completed by 2026. The associated operational vehicles will follow at the beginning of next year.
