Drone manufacturer Quantum Systems takes over Air Robot in full and adds multicopter drones to its portfolio
By acquiring Air Robot GmbH of Arnsberg, drone manufacturer Quantum Systems adds multicopter drones to its range. Air Robot, a supplier for Mikado II and Tiquila, remains an independent company within the group.

Drone manufacturer Quantum Systems GmbH announced today that it has acquired Air Robot GmbH in full. A current press release describes the purchase as strategic: it expands Quantum Systems' drone portfolio and “at the same time strengthens technological sovereignty for the Bundeswehr and its European partners”.
What the drone manufacturer gains with Air Robot
With the purchase, multicopter drones join the Quantum Systems range. According to the press release, this is “a decisive step in the strategy to expand the family of systems and further develop our own software and AI expertise”.
Air Robot is based in Arnsberg. Close cooperation with the Quantum Systems R&D team in Gilching is planned. Despite this integration, Air Robot is to continue as an independent company within the Quantum Systems group.
AirRobot is the prime supplier to the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) in the Mikado II programme (2022–2032). In the United Kingdom, the company also supplies Lockheed Martin as a tier-1 supplier in the Ministry of Defence's Tiquila programme (2023–2033).
“This acquisition strengthens our position as an innovative provider of drone technologies for defence and security applications,” says Sven Kruck, Managing Director and head of Quantum Systems. He adds: “We are pooling our expertise and securing strategically important supply contracts for national and international security partners.”
Robert Polok, Managing Director of Air Robot, is equally confident: “The cooperation opens up entirely new possibilities and creates strong synergies for the future of unmanned aviation. By combining our technologies and innovative strength, we will develop even more capable drone solutions at the highest level – Made in Germany.”
