Unmanned systems across all domains: Quantum Systems acquires Fernride
From aircraft to autonomous trucks: with Fernride, Quantum Systems brings in-house expertise in driverless ground mobility and integrates it into Mosaic UXS. The goal is a networked offering of unmanned systems; neither side discloses the price.

Quantum Systems has now announced the acquisition of Fernride. Until now, the company’s strengths lay in aerial robotics and software intelligence – in future, they will consistently extend to driverless movement on the ground as well. The end result is to be a networked portfolio in which intelligent unmanned systems work together across domain boundaries.
Fernride brings the group a software platform for ground autonomy that has already proven itself in industry. Its solutions are used, for example, in container terminals, yard operations, defence logistics and autonomous driving; well-known customers already use them in operation. In 2025, Fernride became the first provider in Europe to receive TÜV approval for autonomous trucks. These were already deployed in a first test series with the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces), and Defence Logistics was added as a dedicated new business area.
Unmanned systems combined: Mosaic UXS as the link
Martin Karkour, Chief Revenue Officer of Quantum Systems, said: “Fernride has developed one of the most advanced and scalable autonomous ground platforms”. And: “By integrating this technology into Mosaic UXS, we are consistently implementing our vision: building a networked ecosystem in which unmanned systems think, move and act across domains.”
The other side also sees the merger as a strategic step. Hendrik Kramer, CEO and co-founder of Fernride: “Europe urgently needs sovereign autonomy solutions. By integrating into Quantum Systems, we can take our technology to a new level”. He went on: “Together, we are accelerating the deployment of our platform in European defence – currently the most urgent environment worldwide for scaling autonomous ground systems. The insights gained there will also flow back into civil logistics applications and thus contribute to the resilience of our society.”
Quantum Systems expects that integrating Fernride’s technology into Mosaic UXS, the company’s autonomous mission software, will “in future enable multi-domain operations that significantly improve both situational awareness and decision-making”.
The two companies did not disclose financial details of the transaction.
